william naylorWilliam joined thedatabank in November 2010, hailing from the one true North. In an attempt to ‘keep it real’, he continued to wear flannel until informed that his verisimilitude was indistinguishable from the ‘poseurs’. Upon recognizing that the simulation and the simulacrum were nearly indistinguishable, he gained 4342 XP for his Mage character.

Get to know William a little better:

Why is working at a social impact-based company important to you?

‘Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.’  Sharing that value with the people I interact with is important to me. Having a consistent positive identity in my work and home life is important to me.

What’s on your playlist while you’re at work?

My musical interests are very cyclical and what usually happens is that I will hear something I haven’t heard before and then go through my music library in a freely associative way based on whatever it was that started me down that track. Music I can listen to anytime: Glenn Gould, Frank Zappa, Deerhunter, Mastodon, Daft Punk, Kidz Bop.

What does your perfect Saturday morning look like?

Puttering about the house with a cup of coffee is my idea of happiness. Not having a plan, free to look around and see what interests me. Working in the garden, tinkering in the garage, that sort of thing.

If you could visit any place from a book, real or fictional, where would it be and why?

The Starship Enterprise. It just seemed like everyone got along really well.
