Krysten joined thedatabank, gbc after years of working in libraries and other literary environments. As you might suppose, she was an English major, graduating from Hamline University in 2007. In her free time enjoys reading (surprise!), cooking adventurously, live music, and hiking.
Get to know Krysten a little better:
Why is working at a social impact-based company important to you?
I’m a passionate person – when I care about something, I really care. The work we do here helps nonprofits and other organizations fulfill their missions and thrive. My previous work at nonprofits inspired a passion for reaching a broader audience and having a positive impact on so many organizations that do great things.
If time travel were possible, where would you go and why?
Well into the future, to see how it all turned out.
What does your perfect Saturday morning look like?
I tend to be an early riser, but that doesn’t necessarily mean I’m active right away. I love to take my time cooking a nice breakfast while listening to music. The day will probably progress into reading, the loving preparation of even more food, and general wandering.
If you could visit any place from a book, real or fictional, where would it be and why?
I would totally go to Jurassic Park. The sheer amazement of being around living dinosaurs would outweigh the potential for catastrophe. Barring that, I’d love to eat at many of the restaurants Ruth Reichl has written about!
