Growing Farm to School in Iowa Workshop - Altoona, IA

This is one of three planned workshops that will highlight practical examples of farm to school in action and provide resources tailored to Iowa. Topics will include connecting school gardens to the lunchroom, classroom, and community; working with farmers and food hubs to bring local fresh food to school cafeterias; increasing knowledge of food safety guidelines; and cultivating a strong network of stakeholders in farm to school activities.

Space is limited and registration is required. Each attendee is asked to complete an individual registration. Deadline to register is April 24.

A $10 fee is requested to offset the cost of lunch.  The fee is waived if you are an Iowa Nutrition Network school grant coordinator, partner school staff member, workshop speaker or Iowa producer. See additional instructions on the form below.

This event received funding from USDA's Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, SNAP, in collaboration with the Iowa Departments of Public Health and Human Services. These institutions are equal opportunity providers and employers. Iowa Food Assistance can help you buy healthy food. Visit http://dhs.iowa.gov/food-assistance for more information or contact your local Department of Human Services office.
