Telehealth for Counselors: Expanding Access & Enhancing Addiction Treatment Services In 2013, many counselors are being asked by their clients to provide services utilizing telehealth technologies (e.g., email, text, telephone, and videoconferencing) due to issues of convenience and barriers to accessing treatment. It is essential that counseling professionals understand the risks and benefits of providing telehealth treatment and recovery services. This introductory training will provide counselors with foundational knowledge on telehealth technologies. Specifically, participants will learn about telehealth trends, treatment outcome rates, reimbursement, privacy/security issues, ethics, building therapeutic alliances, and license portability.
