Motivational Interviewing Training

Course Description

Motivational interviewing (MI) provides busy health care professionals with evidence-based methods for creating a more patient-centered approach to care.  MI is especially useful for partnering with patients to conduct health education and promote health behavior change.  This learning collaborative will emphasize an engaging and skill-based instructional approach to appeal to learners of all types.  Participants will be given many opportunities to observe, practice, receive feedback and interact with trainers and peers.

Research into the process of learning MI is clear that an introductory workshop is just the beginning of the learning journey.  This six-month learning collaborative will offer participants the following learning opportunities:

·  Two-day introductory workshop that will cover the foundational     concepts and skills of MI on May 28-29, 2015

· Implementation support luncheon during May 2015 workshop

· Six-month series of Skill-Building Webinars

· One-day Skill-Building Intensive workshop in December 2015
