Treatment Planning MATRS

Course Description

Treatment Planning MATRS is part of the King County workforce development plan, designed for both the experienced counselor as well as the beginning counselor. The focus of the training is to assist the counselor who works in Substance Use Disorder Treatment to utilize information from the ASAM criteria as well as the assessment information to formulate a reliable treatment plan for the client. Participants will be provided a scenario from which they will work to create a professional treatment plan based on the principles of MATRS (Measurable, Attainable, Time-limited, Realistic and Specific). Participants will focus on improving skills in individualized treatment planning.

Learning Objectives

Participants who attend and participate in this training should be able to:

1. Identify and write professional problem statements for clients;

2 Prioritize problems using the ASAM criteria;

3. Create goal statements for clients based on MATRS principles;

4. Create and write objectives and interventions for a client driven treatment plan;

5. Establish a relationship between the assessment, the ASAM placement criteria and the client driven treatment plan. 

*The Northwest Addiction Techonology Transfer Center has been approved by NBCC as an Approved Continuing Education Provider, ACEP No. 6531.Programs that do not qualify for NBCC credit are clearly identified. The NWATTC is solely responsible for all aspects of the program.

*This course has been approved by the Northwest Addiction Technology Transfer Center, as a NAADAC Approved Education Provider, for 7 CE. NAADAC Provider # 81495, NWATTC is responsible for all aspects of their programming.
