Grant Writing Basics at Rock Star Supply Co.
In this class, you'll learn the essential elements of writing successful grant proposals and applications. We will explore models for various grant components, including summary narratives, budget and funding explanation, and clear articulation of goals and evaluation methods. If you are working on a grant, bring materials you have already collected. If you would like to begin work on a grant proposal, bring your ideas and energy to get started.
Jen Kohan is executive director of the Minnesota Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development. A writer and writing coach based in Minnesota, she has worked with young writers and writing teachers for more than a decade, and has vast experience writing grant proposals for state agencies and Minnesota nonprofits. Her academic degrees are in English and Humanities; her poetry and nonfiction has appeared in the journals Audemus and Break the Silence, and anthologized by Accents Publishing.
