Get Connected! Working on Transportation Equity with the Alliance for Metropolitan Stability

  • Find out the exciting work that the Alliance for Metro Stability and its partners are doing on transportation equity - and find out how you can get involved.

  • Learn how new media tools can help you become an even more effective organizer.

  • Mingle and network over food from nearby Central Corridor businesses.
  • Marcos Lopez-Carlson, neighborhood engagement coordinator for the Twin Cities Media Alliance, will offer an interactive presentation on how to plug in to and best utilize new media tools, including Twin Cities Daily Planet, blogs, Facebook, and Twitter to get your message out. Discover how these tools can maximize your organizing capacity by allowing you to become and stay connected with key stakeholders, decision-makers, and others in your community.
  • A panel of community engagement team steering committee members, assembled and facilitated by Alliance for Metropolitan Stability’s Ebony Adedayo, will share their experiences and ideas on organizing. Find out how these leaders from underrepresented communities along planned transitways are helping to transform the region’s community engagement strategies.
    • Wynfred Russell, African Career, Education and Resource Inc executive director
    • Mikeal Carlson, Eastside Prosperity Campaign executive director
    • Rick Cardenas, Advocating Change Together executive director

Working on Transportation Equity is one of several New Normal 2012: Get Connected! events being co-hosted by the Twin Cities Media Alliance and community partners, with generous support from the Bush Foundation.
