New Product Structure Reflects Breadth of thedatabank's Offerings

August 1, 2006

Minneapolis , Minn. -- thedatabank, Inc announced a new product structure today.

thedatabank will continue to offer its flagship technology, The Databank, with the option to add on Fundraising, Advocacy, e-Marketing, Volunteer Management, Meetings & Events, and Voter management Modules. Power Tools for Coalitions, Householding, and Advanced Data Entry will also be available as options.

Databank and Modules

The overall design and use of the software will not change, but specialized features will be re-packaged as add-on Modules and Power Tools, so that clients can choose a more customized set of tools to precisely meet their needs.

The most significant change is that the popular DonorMax system is being reconfigured and the DonorMax brand name discontinued. Now, clients wishing to track fundraising or membership will use The Databank in combination with the Fundraising module and other optional tools. DonorMax's fundraising features - contributions, member payments, pledges, and fundraising reports - have all become part of a brand new module called Fundraising. The new Volunteer module will track volunteer interests and activities and enable volunteers to sign up on a customized web form. A brief description of each of the products follows:

Fundraising - Offers an effective way to track all online and offline transactions, enables detailed reports of fundraising and marketing campaigns, includes integrated tools for mailings and other forms of communication and an online contribution form designed to match your organization's website

Advocacy - Publish action items on your site with our Action Alert system, allowing supporters to send a message to an elected official. Action Alerts can also be personalized and tracked. A Legislative Data License, which includes district matching and legislator contact information, is required for this module.

e-Marketing - Using the PowerMail bulk email tool, design HTML email, add Tell-A-Friend features, and send emails to any selected list. Bounces and subscriptions are handled automatically and recorded in member's Contact History. Access reports on actions of members such as click through or unsubscribe.

Volunteer Management - Create a customized list of volunteers based on their availability and interests, which are saved when volunteers use the online signup. Track volunteer participation through the Contact History or the optional Meetings & Events module.

Meetings and Events - Participants can search for meetings and events that you publish on your website that interest them. Participants are automatically added to your Databank, allowing you to manage, track, and communicate with them in the future.

Voter Management - Effectively manage voter contact by tracking voter interests and constituencies, search and report on any voter registration or history using a customizable walk list and call sheet. Use your Databank to track support level, canvasses, mailings, etc.

Advanced Data Entry - This Power Tool includes a bulk data entry feature for creating multiple entries in a work-sheet style page. Automatically import lists for temporary use or permanent addition to your Databank.

Coalitions - This Power Tool allows you to share a Databank, and even an action alert system with other chapters or affiliates. Privacy levels can be set.

Households - This Power Tool inhances the standard Relationship feature. Update contact info for an entire house in one step. View household donation totals with the optional Fundraising module.

Additional Customization - customized data tables can be added to track interests, wealth data, or any other details the client wishes to record and search. Custom web forms and reports are also available.

What led to these changes? Thedatabank has released a variety of new features and upgrades in recent years, most notable a Meeting & Events module and low cost web site-Databank integration. "We felt the old product structure did not accurately reflect the tremendous breadth of our offerings," said Client Development Manager, Karen Graham. The new structure also makes it easier for customers to compare the databank with competitors. "In an apple-to-apples comparison, thedatabank proves to be an unequaled value," Graham said.

"Thedatabank is always working to better serve your organization and it is our hope that these changes will make thedatabank easier to understand and use," said Chris Hanson , CEO of thedatabank.

Current clients will be contacted individually to discuss how the product changes will affect them.
