thedatabank Welcomes State Conservation Voter Leagues to Minneapolis
Last week, we were privileged to participate in the annual conference of the Federation of State Conservation Voter Leagues , which took place in our home town this year. Because many of the Leagues use thedatabank for Action Alerts, donor management and bulk email, we were able to facilitate a user group in conjuction with the conference. We also hosted a social event attended by 60 of our country's brightest environmental leaders. Thanks to everyone who participated!
Upgrade to Contribution Search
The contribution search page now allows you to select multiple campaigns at once to search, rather than limiting you to one campaign per query step. This helps clients more easily get all the contribution data they need, especially when running a Contribution Roster.
New Clients
Sierra Club/John Muir Chapter (Wisconsin) - They will be using thedatabank's Advocacy Module for their Solve Global Warming campaign, which is launching this week. A key component of the campaign, which is a joint effort with partner organizations, is a petition to the Wisconsin state legislature. If you're from Wisconsin, click here to sign the petition !
Front Range Economic Strategy Center - FRESC is a non-profit organization that works to maximize the benefits of economic development for communities and working families. By converting to The Databank they will combine three previous databases and gain an all-in-on tool to better manage their fundraising and grassroots organizing efforts.
Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife - As stewards of Kentucky's fish and wildlife resources and their habitats, KY Department of Fish and Wildlife manages for the perpetuation of these resources and their use by present and future generations. They will use thedatabank's Advocacy and e-Marketing Modules.
Wisconsin Association of Lakes - WAL is a statewide organization working exclusively to protect and enhance the quality of Wisconsin's 15,000 lakes. The Databank was highly recommended to them by another Wisconsin organization. According to Office Manager Tanya Graham, they chose the Databank " because it works! It will do everything we want it to do - and nothing we don't." It was important to WAL feel confident in the quality of the Databank and the support and training they will receive.
Tip du Jour
Contribution Roster
The Contribution Roster enables you to build your own reports on the fly. Just select the members to include in your report, then format the Roster. You can choose any fields from the personal information to show up as a column in the report. You can also include contribution data: contributions within a date range, contributions that match your search criteria, or all contributions. Choose to display totals only, or any details you wish to include.
Use this report to see donors to a particular campaign, create a list of major donors for your board to solicit, or prepare your PAC report.
The Contribution Roster is part of thedatabank's Fundraising Module . Detailed instructions are available in the User Guide in your Help menu.

Under Construction
We have a saying, "There are two seasons in Minnesota: Winter, and Road Construction." As I look out the window here on Washington Avenue, the evidence is clear. The whole street seems to be lined with scaffolding, and the air is filled with the rattle of jackhammers and the beeps of heavy machinery in reverse.
Construction on the Databank takes a more subtle form. But nonetheless, we continue to work behind the scenes to build a better system. Our latest projects are:
- A more powerful HTML editor . It features easy click-through tracking , and it works in Firefox and on Macs! We have several clients using the Beta version already. If you would like to try it, contact your account rep.
- New Action Alert features . There will be two new options for an activist to deliver their message: phone , and using the Target's web form . They can also choose to deliver a different message to each Target.
For a preview, and a chance to give us feedback prior to release of these new tools, contact your account rep.
