Announcing thedatabank's Client Referral Program

We have always gained the majority of our new clients through referrals.  Now we would like to show some appreciation, and encourage our happy customers to tell a friend.

Through our new client referral program, which officially started March 1st, clients receive a gift for each qualifying referral they make.  More information will be sent in a special email to clients next week.

Welcome Scott Hagen, Data Management Intern

Scott joined thedatabank at the beginning of February. He will be working on file uploads, database creation, and customer support.

Scott is a finishing his Computer Science degree at Augsburg College. He loves to spend time with his wife Amy, the "kids" (four miniature nubian goats), and their two "doghters" Rice and Taiter (yellow labs).  They are all pictured above!  In his spare time, Scott enjoys restoring pinball and arcade machines, working on remodeling projects, and following Dave Matthews around the country.

When asked what he hopes to gain from this internship, Scott said, "I plan
on building on my current IT tool set developed in college and previous work experiences."  He continued by stating, "The opportunity to learn while providing useful and meaningful tools to organizations was a huge selling point for me to join the team."

New Clients

We are pleased to welcome the following:

sapn logoThe Sexual Abuse Prevention Network is a volunteer, self-help organization of survivors of sexual abuse and their supporters. Based in Minnesota, they plan to grow quickly into a national effort by using Technology For Change. They work to end the cycle of abuse in two ways: supporting one another in personal healing and pursuing justice and institutional change by holding individual perpetrators responsible and their organizations accountable.

at home alliance logoAt Home Alliance is a grassroots organization striving to reform in the state's long-term care system before the "age wave" overwhelms the health care system. They will use The Databank, e-Marketing, Volunteer Management and Advocacy Modules to mobilize support and contact elected officials.  New School Communications , a PR and Public Affairs firm based in St. Paul, MN, is advising them and helping to manage their Databank.  We have known the folks at New School for years, and we are excited about the opportunity to work with them on this important campaign.

plan logoProgressive Leadership Alliance of Nevada provides a vehicle in Nevada for building consensus and collective strategies among progressives on a range of issues including welfare, immigration, taxes, environment, campaign finance reform, economic justice and reproductive choice.

Texas, and Tex

Bridget Kelly and I are gearing up for our trip to the Lone Star State, where we will be exhibiting at the International Conference on Fundraising, March 25-27.  This is the biggest fundraising conference in the world, and it's always exciting to take part.

We will be promoting our Fundraising Module, which is perfect for small to medium organizations.  Whether they are just getting started and building their list, or they already have a sophisticated development operation with targeting, splits, recurring gifts, and so forth - the Databank is robust enough to handle the complexity, yet easy enough for anyone to learn.  When you see the corporate displays that are as big as a football field, remember there is a better value over at booth 421 (ours)!

Another thing I'm excited about is our new Client Referral Program.  Tex Dworkin, who manages the Global Exchange online store , has put together some fabulous gifts for us to thank clients who make a referral.  Global Exchange was a perfect choice for thedatabank because of their commitment to fair trade and socially responsible businesses.  I just wanted to put in a plug for them and acknowledge Tex's great work - you are going to love making a referral!
