We're pleased to announce two more new hires.  Sean Gardner is a senior software engineer and Melissa Kusmich is a marketing intern.  Read about them and our other staff on our web site, www.thedatabank.com .

Too cool for us?

Thanks to Gay Grymes for two and a half years of exceptional service.  As a software developer, Gay was integral to the development of our Meetings and Events module and did extensive customization projects for some of our clients.  She recently left thedatabank to pursue a different career, but she might still make the occasional guest appearance.  We'll miss you, Gay!

A really cool feature

It is anything but cool in Minnesota right now.  The other day I woke up at 6:00 AM and it was already 80 degrees, with humidity so high I felt like I could grab a handful of air.  At least I have air conditioning at home, unlike some of my coworkers who are taking refuge in movie theaters and shopping malls.

Here's something from thedatabank that won't affect the weather, but I think you'll agree it is cool: our new zip code radius search function.  Here's how it works.  With our Meetings module, you have a page on your web site where visitors can search for meetings and events.  The zip code radius search lets them look for events within a certain distance of their zip code.  (Measurements are based on the geographic center of each zip code.)  You can see an example of it here .

Enjoy the rest of the summer, and stay cool.

Aaaay!  Did you know Henry Winkler, the actor who played The Fonz, also writes children's books and advocates for kids with learning disabilities?  He's a good guy, and still as cool as ever.
