thedatabank, inc. announces development of new products

Planned release of microtargeting, advanced communications and data verification tools positions company to leapfrog competition

Minneapolis , Minn - thedatabank, inc. announced the scheduled release of new Power Tools today for its web-based data management and communications system. The new products will greatly enhance the functionality of the system in an unprecedented way.

According to Chris Hanson , CEO of thedatabank, "By partnering with some of the best providers of web-services in the market, thedatabank is able to give our clients the most advanced database and communications tools available for an affordable price."

The new Power Tools are:

MicroTargeting - Based on techniques developed and used by political campaigns, MircoTargeting allows Databank clients to easily see where their best supporters are and find opportunities for additional support. This is done by appending geographic and demographic data to records in real-time and then using that data to segment and plot records on interactive maps. The Power Tool includes

  • Geocoding - append longitude, latitude, census divisions, political districts and more with a click of the mouse.
  • Demographics - append neighborhood level demographic data to records to identify income, housing, race and age data to records.
  • Mapping - plot selected records on to interactive maps and apply various filters to identify specific areas and people for action.

Advanced Communications - thedatabank is pursuing partnerships with some of the best providers of new "web services", allowing them to greatly extend the communications options for clients. These new options are

  • SMS Text Messaging - automatically send text messages to any supporter's cell phone. Great for getting a quick message out to activists wherever they are.
  • Automated Phone Messaging - automatically send a pre-recorded phone message to any supporter's phone with the ability for recipients to be immediately connected to a live operator. The messages are used for fundraising campaigns, event promotion, meeting reminders, and phone alerts.
  • Virtual Call Center - The Virtual Call Center (VCC) allows any organization to run a sophisticated phone bank operation, without the hassle and expense of procuring phone equipment and a central location. With the VCC, organizations can run phone campaigns with volunteers working at their home or office. Create phone scripts, assign call responsibilities, and perform predictive and on-demand dialing, all through a web-based interface.

Data Verification - Automatically verify the accuracy of data being entered into your Databank by adding Data Verification. Included in this Power Tool are:

  • Addresses Verification and Standardization - verify, standardize and append zip+4 to any U.S. address.
  • Phone Verify - check phone number for area code accuracy and append new or missing area codes.
  • Email Verify - check the accuracy and deliverability of email addresses without sending an actual email.

thedatabank will lead the way for nonprofit technology providers, according to Hanson, who has noted a trend toward integrating web services into existing technology. By folding these tools into what is already recognized as a comprehensive package, thedatabank will further strengthen their position as the best value for medium sized nonprofits.

The new Power Tools are scheduled for release in the second and third quarters of 2007. They will be available for a monthly fee based on current Databank charges and a small transaction fee. Some functions may require clients to get an additional account at the partnering vendor.

Since 1998, thedatabank has been helping nonprofits and political organizations change the world through its high performance, easy to use, affordable technology. thedatabank offers web-based software applications for database management and communications. Based in Minneapolis , thedatabank is a privately held corporation with over 500 clients.
