Food For Thought Program Gives Clients Something to Chew On
September 18, 2006
Minneapolis, MN -- This September thedatabank launched Food For Thought, a series of lunch sessions that bring clients and staff together in an informal setting. The purpose is to brainstorm and exchange candid feedback that would be helpful to the client.
Discussion focuses on how technology and communication can be better used by the client organization. Everyone from software developers, to marketing professionals, to thedatabank's CEO is invited to weigh in, giving a variety of perspectives - and the occasional flash of brilliance.
"For me the best idea was that we could use Databank info to help with grass roots organizing and the development of a network of champions at the local level," said Audrey Suker, Executive Director of Serve Minnesota, who attended a recent Food For Thought session. Serve Minnesota has already implemented some of the suggestions, such as looking at another client of thedatabank as a model for building an alumni community.
Sean Gardner of thedatabank reports that he benefited from the meeting too. "I liked the chance to connect what I do behind the scenes with what clients do," said Sean, a software developer who has been with the company since June.
Food For Thought occurs on the second Tuesday of each month from 12:00-1:30 PM at thedatabank's Minneapolis office. A client buys lunch for thedatabank staff in exchange for input and ideas. Clients are asked to supply background information and a few specific questions or issues they wish to discuss.
