Conservation Voter Leagues Select e-ActionMax

The Federation of State Conservation Voter Leagues announced today that it has selected thedatabank, inc. to provide the technology behind a nation wide grassroots activist network.

The new system is expected to launch on February 15 th of this year. Conservation supporters will be able to join their state's League of Conservation Voters activist network online. They will then receive Action Alerts via email, asking them to contact legislators and other policy makers using an automated online advocacy system called e-ActionMax.

Involving members in grassroots action is an important part of the Leagues' mission, according to Ed Zuckerman, Executive Director for the Federation. “An online system is of great value because makes it convenient for members to make their voices heard, and the response is very fast,” Zuckerman said.

In addition to providing real time reports on the results of Action Alert campaigns, e-ActionMax will track detailed information about individual members' activities, interests and contact preferences. Driving the system is a robust member management database. “e- - ActionMax will give us the capacity to continually build detailed profiles of our members,” said Dan Burger, Program Manager for the Maryland League of Conservation Voters. “That gives us a more complete picture of our members and allows us to maximize the efficiency of our campaigns.”

“It's no surprise that the Federation chose thedatabank. The software was designed with environmentalists in mind,” said Marty Broan, Program Manager for the Minnesota League of Conservation Voters. Broan partnered with thedatabank in 1999 to develop the original e-ActionMax system for the Minnesota Environmental Action Network, a coalition of which the Minnesota LCV is a member.

The Federation of State Conservation Voter Leagues, based in Seattle, Wash., supports state Leagues of Conservation Voters in holding state elected officials accountable on environmental and conservation issues. More information is available at www.fscvl.org .
