2009 Webinar Series a Success
Our 2009 webinar series has come to an end, but we're already thinking about educational opportunities for next year! We had a great turnout and received rave reviews from many attendees. According to Kristina Lutes of Kids Share Workshops:

Email Messaging webinar inspires clients to engage supporters
Last month, presenter Eric Rardin shared a tip for engaging your supporters during quiet periods: quiz them on subjects related to your cause. Two Databank clients gave it a shot using PowerMail.
Minnesota Organization on Pregnancy, Prevention, and Parenting sent their supporters a quiz titled "Do YOU know the facts?" Says Charissa Osborn, Operations Associate, "One of our staff members was on the webinar and thought it was a fabulous idea!" Charissa also reported the message had a 20% open rate and a few people even forwarded it to a friend.
Wisconsin League of Conservation Voters sent a message to their members quizzing them on their DNR Secretary "smarts." Says Anne Sayers, Program Director, "We got lots of feedback that people really enjoyed the quiz. Best of all, we succeeded in engaging our supporters during a low-action week."

New Clients
Michigan League of Conservation Voters has been a client for five years, and is now undergoing a major enhancement to their Databank system. Previously using their Databank mainly for advocacy efforts, their Databank will now be a more comprehensive system to handle both arms of their organization, C3 and C4, replacing several other packages for fundraising and email.

Toilet Story
I had second thoughts about publishing this, since some of you have already put up with my comments on toilet training my kid earlier this year. But Melissa reassured me: "Come on, who doesn't love a good toilet story?" Okay, here goes.
While I was in the office restroom the other day, I heard a plink...sploosh. Uh-oh. My earring fell in the toilet. I immediately thought of that scene from Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist, and knew my earring was lost forever.
Later I was talking with one of our clients, who told me one thing he loves about his Databank is that he never has to worry about losing his data, or for that matter, any of the technical aspects of database maintenance. Our web-based system is continuously backed up. We do that for you, so you can spend your time...oh, let's see...raising money? Recruiting volunteers? Defending people's rights?
