Veterans: Apply Now for Armed To Farm Sustainable Agriculture Training
Veterans and their spouses can apply to spend several days in September learning about sustainable, small-scale farming at Armed to Farm (ATF) events in Arkansas and Mississippi. ATF will be a dynamic blend of farm tours and hands-on experience with classroom instruction. Participants will learn about business planning, budgeting, recordkeeping, marketing, livestock production, fruit and vegetable production, and more.
NCAT will host two Armed to Farm trainings this fall:
September 14-19, 2014—Fayetteville, Arkansas
September 22-26, 2014—Jackson, Mississippi
Applications are due August 1, 2014.

NCAT Seeks Host Sites for Energy Corps Members—Application Deadline Extended!
NCAT is seeking non-profit organizations, schools and public agencies in Arkansas to host Energy Corps AmeriCorps members for the 2014-2015 program year.
Serving as an Energy Corps AmeriCorps host site provides a unique opportunity to improve organizational and community capacity to address local energy needs.

Small Ruminant Toolbox Now Available
The free toolbox, which was funded by USDA Sustainable Agriculture Research and Education (SARE), is a well-organized collection of some of the best information available on small ruminants. It's perfect for producers, Extension agents, and other educators.
This collection is available for free online at https://attra.ncat.org/ruminant. You can also purchase the Toolbox as a USB flash drive. It's portable and all the content is readily available even when you don't have Internet access. The flash drives are $5 each, and can be ordered from the website.
